Reviews
This is a rare gem. Every dish without exception was excellent. Every house salad should be this good. Very attentive service and the pride in the food is justified. I can't remember the last time I gave five stars.
Cute little place near downtown Staunton with minimal indoor seating but a nice patio/outdoor seating area. I got the mojito drink and the steak frites which were good. The vegetables were cold though which I wasn't expecting but steak and fries were delicious! My fiancé got the scott salmon and he said it was good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive as well. Only downside to sitting outside were the flies, there were a good amount.
Just a few blocks away from downtown Staunton we found this amazing restaurant that truly was our highlight of the day. First off, the restaurant is very dog friendly with having a patio reserved for doggos and an entire dog menu. A burger patty was only 6 bones! The waiter brought the pup water and a bowl. All the dogs there were very friendly, obviously avoid taking your dog if it's not well trained. The food was great! I didn't care much for the tater totes with the spicy ketchup, but my girlfriend loved them. The Bacon Bleu burger was amazing, it had a wonderful fig sauce with bacon and a thick slice of bleu cheese that all blended really good. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. Service was good and friendly. The place can get a little busy, we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table outside due to the dog. There is indoor seating. The night we went there was a live band that was really good and not overly loud like some places. There is a railway right behind the restaurant with a nice view, it was great seeing the long rail cars going over the bridge. The waiter new exactly what celiac disease was and the different gluten free options they had which was a major plus. My girlfriend who is GF did not get sick from the food so that was amazing. The dog burger beyond surprised me. I don't know why, but when we ordered the dog burger I was not expecting much... when this burger came out it was as big as a regular burger and topped with garnish (photo does not do it justice) The burger was served medium rare lol. The dog rated her burger 11/10 and devoured it within 2 seconds.
We had a delicious dinner at Table 44. We were traveling with our dog and didn't want to leave her at the hotel room. They are super dog friendly and have plenty of outdoor seating. We both had steak frites. Perfectly cooked ribeye and fries. Service was friendly and attentive. Great dinner option in Staunton.
Another brilliant dining experience, this time for Sunday brunch. We sat at the bar, though there were a few tables still available at 1pm. While sampling crunch pickled beans and carrots on my perfectly balanced Bloody Mary, the food arrived. The Scottish salmon and fried eggs is perfection. Never have I had such creamy, cheesy, flavorful grits! My husband ordered a burger, medium. His words? Excellent, and the man has had his share of American burgers. While ordering our food, I also went ahead and asked for oatmeal sandwich cookies to go. Glad I did too! We got the last two Sunday sandwiches, and these are worth traveling to Staunton!
